Spring is right around the corner, and although it was probably not a good idea because of freezing temperatures, I ordered some coffee seedlings off Amazon. Why not? Last year I ordered off a professional site, but they did not pass my experimental stage in the grow room.

What are some cool facts about coffee plants?
One of the easiest houseplants to grow
Self-pollinating (Arabica)
Grown in USDA zones 10B-11
Can be grown as houseplants
A coffee cherry contains two beans
4-8 lbs of coffee cherries from mature trees (2000-4000 beans)
To brew one pound of coffee you need about 2000 to 4000 beans
5lbs of coffee cherries to make 1 lb of roasted coffee
Arabica coffee can grow to be 10-15 feet tall
Beans are said to be more flavorful, with less caffeine
Trees will produce after 3-4 years
Require indirect sunlight and 59-75 for best results
Protect from freezing temperatures
Temperatures above 85 degrees can damage the leaves

So now that you know it is going to take some time to grow these, why should you buy them, and when should you buy them?
Well, they are great houseplants and absolutely gorgeous little fellas. Most importantly these coffee plants purify your air, give you a tropical feel, and you can be a complete beginner and be able to keep one of these alive (unless you are like me last year and gave them full sunlight on accident). Make sure you purchase plants in spring or fall so you don't have to worry about winter frost or excessive heat.
Where I purchased my coffee plants this year: Amazon

Where I purchased previous year: Spring Hill Nurseries, also check Gurney's. They were not in stock/season yet when I checked.

Where can I put my coffee plant?
Near a window but not anywhere where it will get direct sunlight through the window. This can damage the plant. Think of a rainforest canopy and this plant likes a little umbrella shielding it from the harsh sun.

Now that you have your quick tips and tricks, you should be ready to rock n roll with some plants of your own. Leave some comments and images with your experience having coffee plants as houseplants! How big have yours become? Any tips for us beginners?
