Best Way to Ship Watches on Ebay and Etsy - Boxes vs Bubble Mailers

Everyone loves pushing product, but how about the item actually arriving in one piece. This is important too.

After trying 4x4x4 boxes and Bubble Mailers I have found that it, really depends on the type of watch. If you want to stick to a fancy gift wrap, I would advise to use the same technique for all items, this goes for Etsy. Safety First - I would always use the safest packing. You want to keep your ratings up as a seller.
4x4x4 Corrugated Box - Shipping Watches
Pros: Keeps items safer, better for bulky larger watches
Cons: cost, size can up the shipping price
Bracelet or Bangle Type Watches
Watches that are too long to fit in the bubble mailer
Antique / Vintage Watches that you want packed well and not flying around or being smushed by other packages.
Larger Men's Chain Watches
10x6 Bubble Mailers - Shipping Watches
Pros: cost efficient, color choices, easy tear and stick, simple small flat items
Cons: can easily smash items inside, labels don't always stick as well
Simple Flat Watches with Flat Bands
Shipped in Plastic Bag
Shipped in a Jewelry Box - it will fit
Watch Bands (single ones can get away with an envelope)
Some Dainty Women's Watches
Smaller Chain Link Watches
Internal Packing Paper & Bubble Wrap
(Cost Savings $: I re-use shipping materials from my amazon / other Ebay orders)
Newspaper
Shredded Paper
Bubble Wrap
Peanuts
Kraft Paper
Paper Towels
Additional Packaging for Gift Wrap ($ keep in mind your price is increasing when adding gift wrap - always make this an option to the buyer - upcharge)
Necklace Boxes - These fit in the bubble mailers (as pictured above)
Actual Watch (with a pillow) Boxes - These will fit in the 4x4x4 cube.
In Summation:
So, to sum it up, the safety of the product matters most. Cost savings is great but once you hit a certain weight 3oz plus the shipping rate is almost flat at that point with USPS. Refunding broken items is not fun, I have yet to deal with it.

***Bulk Jewelry and Shipping Watches are usually not packed well, so always be careful when ordering these. All of mine came with broken glass in the bottom. I don't agree with this.. but the price was right, I wish the sellers would try a bit harder to package and take care of the items within the boxes. Lost many good Timex, and bulova to smashing because of this.
